About Galerie Rothamel
The Galerie Rothamel was founded in 1996 by the art historian Jörk Rothamel. Initially the Gallery worked in Erfurt - predominantly with local artists including Katrin Heesch, Gerd Mackensen and Harald Reiner Gratz. A year later the Gallery acquired the portfolios of two significant artists - the painter and drawer Moritz Götze and the sculptor TRAK Wendisch. Since 1997 the gallery represents the photographers Hans-Christian Schink - who achieved his big breakthrough in 2004. In the same year the gallery started it's cooperation with the norwegian painter Lage Opedal, 2005 with the sculptor Axel Anklam and 2007 with the painter vietnamese painter Nguyen Xuan Huy. Since September 2005, the Gallery has established a presence in Frankfurt am Main.
