Jazz-minh Moore

Jazz-minh Claire Moore was born in 1978 on a hippie commune in the old redwood forests of Oregon, and raised in a small house on a dirt road near San Diego, surrounded by fruit trees. She studied at the Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, and the California State University, Long Beach; Many years she spent living in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. She now lives just north of San Francisco with her family. She writes: "I believe that it’s the artist’s duty to bring clarity, truth and vibrancy to the culture in difficult times."
Moore has exhibited widely and been featured in various publications, including Whitewall, New York Magazine, New American Paintings, ArtVoices, Zingmagazine and the Village Voice. She has received numerous grants, including a NYFA Fellowship and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant.
